Brusubi 'murderers' in court

africa » gambia » bundung
Wednesday, September 24, 2008
The Brusubi 'murderers' Makodou Jahateh, Sheikh Taib Jagne, and their third accomplice, (name withheld, as he is said to have claimed to be a minor offender), were, on Monday, arraigned before Senior Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Camara of the Bundung Magistrates Court.

The trio are accused of stabbing the late Alieu Jawo to death.

When the case was called, two of the three accused persons told the court that they wished to engage the services of a lawyer before taking their plea. The third accused person, however, requested for the state to provide him with a counsel.

The presiding magistrate then ordered that they be remanded at the State Central Prison at Mile II, until the next session. The case was then adjourned to 29 September, 2008.
