The Brikama nawettan tournament may be taking a break to observe the Holy Month of Ramadan, but one team that has started observing Ramadam with a broad smile on the faces of its officials and fans are Africell Kitty United in Group A.

One of the two village teams, with a crop of school-going players, competing in the Brikama nawettan, Africell Kitty stood against a more seasoned Real Sira's side in their first match with divisional players Abdourahman Conateh, Muhamed Konateh of Real de Banjul and Malang Ida Bojang of the newly promoted Brikama United to force the game to a 1-1 draw with Lamin Touray's 24th minute blast nullifying Real's Musa Colley's lead in the 16th minute.

Africell Kitty, who were considered minnows by many book makers, went on to silence the fans and players of defending champions Berewuleng with Yusupha Sanyang's spot kick in the first half of the game to send warning signals to opponents in this year's nawettan. The team will meet Nema, who have earned themselves the accolade of draw specialists with three drawn games in a row, after Ramadan. The other village team outside of Brikama, Kassa Kunda, in Group B is at the bottom with a point after two games.

Meanwhile, notwithstanding it's participation in the Brikama Nawettan, Kitty Village has organised its own nawettan tournament with the following teams competing. In Group A are Panjak, Kaira Silo, Sera Deema and Yiriwa while Kambeng, Janbedula, Darjoyeh and Sankandi make up Group B.
