Thursday, January 15, 2009
Three men, Mamudou Ceesay, Biran Mbalo and Dembo Bojang were on Tuesday brought before Magistrate Sagarr Jahateh of the Kanifing Magistrates Court on charges of stealing a car.

Giving his testimony, the complainant, Ebrima Jatta, told the court that on the 24th of August 2008 at Bakau Sanchaba, he woke up in the morning and asked his kids to go and wash his private vehicle which was packed outside his compound. He narrated that the kids went and came back with the information that the said vehicle was not there.

According to him, he immediately went to report the matter to the Bakau Police Station. Some time later, he said, he received a telephone call from police headquarters in Banjul, informing him that the vehicle had been found in Kanifing by the Kanifing police.  He disclosed that the said vehicle is valued at D90,000.

The case was adjourned to 4th February 2009.
