4 arrested, charged for Wuli post-match violence

Four youth from the village of Sutukoba in Wuli East District of the Upper River Region (URR) are currently in police custody following a post-match fracas between two communities in the region.


The police commissioner of the region, Ousman Jatta, told this reporter that Alhagie Nyabally, Manka Danso, Mutu Jarbai and Sainey Yaffa were arrested in connection to a post-match violence involving the communities of Baja Kunda and Sutukoba, both in Wulli East District in URR. He said the incident led to some people sustaining injuries and one motorbike valued at D25, 000 getting burnt to ashes. He added the owner of the burnt motorbike.


Karamo Bajaha, also sustained injuries. Commissioner Jatta also disclosed that a horse cart carrying footballers and supporters was also attacked. He said the horse escaped unhurt, but the cart was destroyed, as well as three bicycles.
