4 in court for trespass

Four people namely, Alieu Touray, Sulayman Touray, Kebbeh Touray and Abdoulie Touray were on Monday 23rd January 2011 arraigned before the Brikama Magistrates Court presided over by Magistrate Hilary Abeke. The accused persons were charged with the offence of criminal trespass and willful damage of property all contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.

The particulars of offence on count one stated that on or about 23rd December 2011 in Kartong Village, Kombo South District of the West Coast Region, the accused persons entered into the ECO Tourism and Wildlife Camp belonging to one Lamin Jammeh with the intent to commit felony, therein damaged properties.

While on count two, the accused persons on the same day and place, entered into the Eco Tourism and Wildlife Camp belonging to Lamin Jammeh and destroyed the Restaurant and Bar worth D3,600 thereby committed an offence. When the charges were read to the accused persons, they all pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of D10,000 each with two Gambian sureties.
The case was adjourned to 15th February 2012 for hearing.
