Thursday, June 21, 2012
Four persons were Tuesday appointed as First Class Magistrates.

The four -Sidi Jobarteh, Aji Amie Jeng, Isatou Janneh and Abdoulie Colley are law graduates of the University of The Gambia (UTG).
Reacting to the development, Sidi Jobarteh, expressed delight at the appointment. She said: “I have been to school in my own country and successfully graduated. It shows that what other universities around the world can produce, the University of The Gambia too can produce.”

She thanked the government of The Gambia for making possible such opportunities and scholarships. “I am from a poor background and I couldn’t have achieved the LLB without the help of the Gambia Government. All what I have achieved I owe it to my country,” she added.
For her part, Isatou Janneh said they need the support of the public to enable them achieve what is expected from them. “We will bring positive changes,” she assured.

Aji Amie Jeng thanked God for successfully completing her studies at UTG. She also promised to live up to expectation.  Abdoulie Colley thanked President Jammeh for creating the enabling environment and facilities for Gambians to excel. He also thanked the Chief Justice Emmanuel Agim for giving them the opportunity to serve their country.
