40-foot container of medical items donated to AFPRC Hospital

Africa » Gambia
Thursday, June 07, 2012

A 40-foot container loaded with medical items and other valuables was recently donated to the AFPRC General Hospital in Farafenni by one Ram Faal, a native of the said town, but based in the United Kingdom. The donated items included surgical items, amongst others.

Speaking at a brief presentation ceremony, the chief executive officer of the hospital, Alhagie Saine, thanked Ram Faal for the donation, which he described as a major boost to the hospital and the health sector in general. He then urged others to emulate Faal, stressing that the development of the health sector is the business of all.

Also speaking at the occasion, the communication officer at the hospital, Sainey Dibba, described the donation as a big plus to the region, given the fact that the donated items will not only be usedby the receiving hospital but also other health centers within the region.

The father of the benefactor, Modou Ceesay, described Faal as a son with good intention to contribute to the development of the social sector of the country. He assured the beneficiaries that his son would be encouraged to redouble his efforts for the development of the health sector.
