Five men -Muhammed Touray, Muhammed Sillah, Ebrima Jobarteh, Ousman Sanyang, all airport security officers and Joseph Chinton, a Ghanaian national were on 24 April 2010 arrested at the Banjul International Airport by Airport Police Task Force for  alleged forgery.

Confirming the story to reporters last Friday at the Police Headquarters in Banjul, Superintendent Sulayman Secka, the police public relations officer , said Muhammed Touray was about to travel to Spain but was intercepted by the Spanish Airline crew who discovered that the stamp on his passport was   false. The matter was reported to the Airport Police Task Force who investigated and later found out that the said Muhammed Touray was assisted by one Muhammed Sillah, through Ebrima Jobarteh and Ousman Sanyang, all airport security officers.

According to Secka, Muhammed Touray was directed to Joseph Chinton, who stamped departure and arrival on his passport. The police spokesperson revealed that the matter was forwarded to the Fraud Squad Unit in Banjul, and during investigation, the Ghanaian was intercepted by the officers who searched  his residence and found five Gambian passports, one Sierra Leonean  passport, one Liberian Passport, one Norwegian passport, one United Kingdom passport, 17 dating stamps of different organisations, three pieces  of letters and a figure press which he uses to manipulate visa on the passport, and  equipment used to process passports. PRO Secka said the suspects will be charged with being in possession of forged passports, forged visa, forged documents, conspiracy and other charges. He then advised the general public to stop going outside embassies to look for visas.
