6 NAPSA members to study in VenezuelaTuesday, September 08, 2009 Six members of the National Patriotic Students' Association (NAPSA), have benefited from the president's scholarship package to study in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The six departing students would be studying agriculture and computer science. As the students prepare to leave the country on the 7th and 18 of this month for their four-year programme, the National Patriotic Student's Association, last Sunday, organised a farewell ceremony for their colleagues at a ceremony held at Honorable Seedy Njie's residence in Churchills Town. Speaking at the ceremony, Abdou Kabir Daffeh, assistant public relations officer of the association, described the development as a move in the right direction. He said that the ceremony is meant to bid farewell to their friends, as well as to give them words of wisdom. He advised the students to unite as one family in Venezuela and to serve as good ambassadors of the country. Daffeh finally urged them to take up their studies seriously. For his part, Momodou Salieu Sowe, the chairperson of NAPSA, thanked the departing students for their commitment in serving the Gambian students and the association. He expressed appreciation for the good work they have done for the association. Sowe said that the package is not surprising to them, noting that President Jammeh is very much concerned about the education of the Gambian students. For her part, Aminata LB Ceesay, the association's secretary general, thanked the departing students for maintaining peace and tranquility among the Gambian students, citing the strong foundation they have laid for the association. She further advised them to come back home and contribute to national development after completing their studies. Momodou Dumbuya and Modou Sanyang, members of the association, who are set to leave for the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, described their scholarship as a big challenge. They advised the executive members of NAPSA to serve the Gambian students to their fullest ability. Author: by Alieu Ceesay | Media Actions |
