Abdoulie Sanneh: Player with rich talent

Africa » Gambia
Wednesday, April 25, 2012

Abdoulie Sanneh popularly called Rivaldo, after the former Brazil and Barcelona legend, is a promising player with a huge wealth of talent which he continues to showcase with his Gambian premier league side Real de Banjul.

Abdoulie started playing football at a very early age and became accustomed to the trade. He started with Muhammedan Primary School in Banjul where he played in the School team before his talents was again recognised and further nurtured at Crab Island Junior Secondary School. But it was at GTTI that the teenager won his first honour as a player by winning the inter-class football competition.

He also played with Revelation where he helped the Lancaster side to qualify for the Banjul Nawettan. Sanneh later had a brief spell with Gambia Ports Authority and Young Africans before he proceeded to Real de Banjul in 2006.

He also went to Dakar for trials with Senegalese outfit Yegoo FC which was another achievement in his footballing career. He was the second highest scorer for Real De Banjul last season.
