Journalists from all the 53 member countries of Africa, currently attending the second edition of Panaf 2009, have formed an association called the Network of African Journalists.

300 journalists from both the print and electronic media appended their names and signature to the document declaring the formation of the network. The network will aim to promote and complement efforts and ideals of African Union. The network will also aim to promote and develop the role of journalists in development.
