African leaders urged to emulate President JammehTuesday, September 01, 2009 The founder and president of the Campaign for a United States of Africa, Vincent Anani, has hailed the Gambian leader,His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh for his firm stance on African unity. He described the Gambian leader as a pan-Africanist, and called on the rest of the continent's leaders to emulate him. Campaign for a United States of Africa is a charitable organisation established to serve as a forum for fostering African unity. Anani made this call during an interview with the Daily Observer recently. He said his organisation is working for social, economic and political unity among Africans and also campaigns for the establishment of a union government for the continent. He commended President Jammeh and Brother Ghaddafi for advocating a central union government in Africa. For his part, Thomas Fuad Touray, vice president of the organization, also saluted President Jammeh and the Libyan leader for their efforts towards the realization of the pan-African dream.
