Alleged drug trafficker granted bail

Principal Magistrate Sheriff Tabally of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on Thursday granted bail to one Lamin Ceesay, who is alleged to be in possession of prohibited drugs, contrary to Laws of The Gambia. The accused person was granted bail in sum of D300, 000 with two Gambian sureties.


The particulars of offence stated that the accused on the 7th day of July 2011 at Pipeline in the Kanifing Municipality, was caught in possession of 99kg.380grams of cannabis sativa, thereby committed an offence. When the charge sheet was read to him he pleaded not guilty and was granted bail. The case was adjourned to 22nd May 2012 for the witnesses to testify.  Sgt. E. Bah stood for the NDEA.
