Another police detective testifies in Bayanka murder caseWednesday, March 10, 2010 Jamanti Kebbeh, police detective attached to the Major Crime Unit of the Gambia Police Force, last Friday, 5th of March gave his evidence in the ongoing murder case involving six accused persons: Ansuman Camara, Haruna Camara, Yusupha Sanneh, Swaibou Colley, Abdou Camara and Sanna Camara for the murder of one Ansu Bojang. The accused persons are alleged to have unlawfully caused the death of one Ansu Bojang by beating him on the 18th of September 2002, in Bayanka, Kombo North, Western Region. The police detective identified all the accused persons in the dock and recalled being instructed on the 11th of December 2009, by his Station officer to obtain cautionary statements from the 2nd and 6th accused persons, Haruna Camara and Abdou Camara, in the presence of an independent witness called Ebrima Jallow. The prosecution witness further explained that the accused persons gave a detailed narration of all what they knew about the said case in the Mandinka language and wrote it in English. The said cautionary statements were tendered and marked as exhibits H and J. DDPP Mikailu Abdulahi at that junction informed the court about the intention of the prosecution to file in additional information with regards to the matter.
