In another development, Ousman Sowe, a former deputy permanent secretary, Office of the President also sent Ramadan greetings and congratulatory message on the 18th anniversary of the July 22nd Revolution to President Jammeh.

The message reads:

On behalf of my family and humble self, I have the honour to seize the opportunity offered by the holy month of Ramadan to extend to Your Excellency and family my very best wishes and prayers of good health, wellbeing and prosperity. I also pray the Almighty Allah to continue to guide and protect you in the discharge of your noble and precious vision of transforming the Gambia into an ultra modern country.

May it also please Your Excellency to let me join the countless number of true and well wishers to congratulate you on the event of the 18th Anniversary of the July 22nd, an epoch that has heralded massively transformative, broad in scope and clear in vision socio- politico and economic development by your Excellency. All with a calculated aim, desire and an unmistakable drive to dramatically transforming the face and to proudly situate The Gambia in a position that could be the envy of all people and states alike.

This drive and desire is vivid in either the inauguration or the commissioning of state-of- the art infrastructure across the length and breadth of the country in the in the last 18 years. The Sankulay Kunda Bridge, the National Assembly Building and the Foreign Affairs Ministry whose foundation stone Your Excellency laid are all among countless attestations to your Excellency’s prominent undertakings.

On the international scene you have stood and remained steadfast in your commitment to international peace and security. This again in my humble view glaringly underscores your international Statesmanship and interest in humanity’s wellbeing, peace, stability and security. On a final note may it please Your Excellency to allow me to state my unaffected loyalty to your Excellency and government whilst wishing you every success in your noble undertakings. Ramadan Mubarak

Ousman Sowe
