As part of the traditions of the school since its establishment, the staff and students of Armitage Senior Secondary School last Saturday, conducted an inspection in the school.

The inspection, led by Musa Mbenga, a senior master in the school and some executive members of the Armitage Ex- students Association, was meant to promote environmental cleanliness in the school campus. During the inspection, the team visited the boys dormitories, the kitchen, dining hall, assembly hall, girls' host and other parts of the school, to see which kunda or block is the cleanest kunda.

Speaking to the Daily Observer shortly after the inspection, Musa Mbenga who is also the inspection master said the purpose of the inspection was to ensure that the students live in a clean and healthy environment. He described the inspection as another form of competition for the students, adding that there are prizes set aside for the winners, every Monday, during the Assembly period. He then advised the students to keep up the good work and always keep their environment clean.

Sulayman Jawo, headboy of the school also described the inspection as another competitive way of maintaining a clean and healthy environment in the school. He used the opportunity to call on students to maintain discipline, obey the school rules and regulations and work hard to achieve good results. For her part, Isatou Jallow, the headgirl of the school said cleanliness is next to godliness and that it should therefore be everyone's duty to clean his/her environment. She advised the students to work hard and respect their teachers.
