The Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh has received felicitation messages from Liham Aliyev, the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Mohamed Nasheed, the president of the Republic of Maldives on the occasions of The Gambia's 45th Independence Anniversary and the Milad of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) respectively.

The messages read:
 On the occasion of The Gambia's National Day, I have the honour to address to Your Excellency and the beloved people of your country my sincere congratulations.I am sure that the relations of cooperation and friendship that happily exist between Azerbaijan and The Gambia will further expand for the mutual benefit of our two peoples.
