BAC gives D15, 000 to WCR GADHOH branch

Africa » Gambia
Friday, June 24, 2011
The Brikama Area Council (BAC)  Wednesday presented a cheque of D15, 000 to the Gambia Association of the Deaf and Heard of Hearing (GADHOH) branch in West Coast Region (WCR). The presentation ceremony was held at the Council’s grounds in Brikama.

The donation is part of the annual financial assistance that BAC gives to the GADHOH West Coast Region branch office.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Modou Jonga, the public relations officer (PRO) of BAC spoke at length on the longstanding ties that exist between his Council and GADHOH, while hoping that the amount will complement the efforts of the beneficiary in its drive to empower its members. He assured the GADHOH officials of BAC’s continuous support and cooperation and hailed their commitment in the empowerment of its members in the region.

Karamo Sanyang, the branch manager and head teacher of GADHOH Brikama branch, described the presentation of the cheque as timely and expressed hope that the relationship between GADHOH and BAC will grow from strength to strength. He expressed gratitude to BAC for funding their activities since 2006 and promised that the said amount will be put into good use. He also urged other stakeholders in the region to emulate the council.
