Balla Gaye 2 fans club return from Dakar:-Wrestler promises Gambia visit

Gambian fans of the famous Senegalese wrestler, Oumar Sakho yesterday returned from Dakar where they witnessed their hero hand Yekini his first defeat in two decades at the weekend.

The fans club which has a membership of over 700 people sent a delegation of 80 representatives that represented The Gambia to show their support to the man who goes by his wrestling name, Balla Gaye 2. The trip also accorded the fans the opportunity to meet face-to-face with their hero.

After his victory, Balla called the Gambian fans club to his house as a way of showing his gratitude for their visit and support. He sat and had a conversation with them.

Tapha Douye, the president of the fans club expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Senegalese people and Balla, for according to him, they had food, transportation and shelter at its best.

Ousman Sowe, the organiser of the committee, disclosed that they had a football match in Senegal and won 2-1 against the Senegalese Balla Fans Club.

The mother of the Fans club who didn’t witness the combat in person but watched it on television here in The Gambia expressed her happiness and her ability to work with the fans club whom she said are respectful to her.

Sheikh Kine who was also in The Gambia during Balla’s victory said: “You guys celebrated but we celebrated more for we were dancing in the streets till 2am.”

Meanwhile, Balla Gaye has extended his greetings to his Excellency Sheikh ProfessorAlhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, as well as the Gambian people for their support during Sunday’s combat. The famous wrestler also promised to visit The Gambia soon. It is widely expected that his visit will culminate in the launching of Kora maestro Jaliba Kuyateh’s new album.
