Friday, May 11, 2012

Senegalese wrestler and winner of the last grand combat Balla Gaye 2 is expected to arrive in Banjul today. The man who is officially known as Oumar Sakho will grace the latest album launch of Gambia’s Kora King Jaliba Kuyateh who has dedicated a special song to him.

Speaking ahead of the Saturday event at the Senegambia Beach Hotel Garden, Jaliba Kuyateh said he met Balla in Ziganchor, Senegal where he was part of a musical jamboree. Jaliba also suggested that the Gambia Wrestling Association should try and make good use of Balla’s trip in the wrestling field for the wrestlers and wrestling lovers.

On his part, Tapha Ndoye the president of the Balla Gaye 2 fans club said:“We will show Balla the outmost hospitality of the smiling coast.” He added that they will give Balla a grand welcome to the country as well as a grand concert at Dream Park which will give all fans, friends and wrestling lovers the opportunity to see him face-to-face, especially kids who regard him as a role model.
