Banjul Muslim elders elect new chairman

Following the demise of Alhaji A.A. Faal, the then chairman of the Banjul Muslim Elders Committee, a little over a month now, the members had recently met to elect Alhaji Ebrahima Malick Samba as his replacement.


Two other members in the persons of Alhaji Abou Wadda and Alhaji Junaidi Jallow were respectively elected as vice chairman and treasurer of the Committee. Meanwhile, the Imam Ratib of Banjul, Alhaji Cherno Muhammed Alieu Mass Kah; Alhaji Alieu Mboge; Alhaji Pa Omar Cham; Alhaji Dodou Momar Taal, and Alhaji Hassan Jallow retained their previous positions in the Committee.


Since its establishment many years ago, the Committee has been responsible for the welfare of Islam in Banjul, and have been relentless in the propagation of the faith in the city.
