Banjul shifts Mayor Cup finalWednesday, July 15, 2009 The Banjul Mayor Cup final which was fixed for Saturday, July 18, has been rescheduled to next Saturday, July 25, at the Gambia Senior Secondary School ground, a brief statement issued by the Banjul Sports Committee has revealed. The final, which will pit Ngoyan FC, against Plumbi FC, was shifted due to the weekend FA Cup final involving the two city clubs - Gamtel and Young Africans. Meanwhile, the Banjul nawettan proper is set to kick off on Saturday, July 18, with 24 teams taking part. The 24 teams have been grouped into four groups of six teams with the top teams in each group progressing to the quarter-final stages. In Saturday's opening match, Revelation FC will take on Marcus FC at the Gambia Senior Secondary School ground, while Rankin face Digi Dambi on the same day at the Saint Augustine playground.
