Bimbi Felici Association gives to Saaba & Banni LBS

Africa » Gambia
Tuesday, July 03, 2012

The Bimbi Felici Association, based in Italy, recently donated educational materials to 25 students of Saaba and Banni Lower Basic Schools in Lower Baddibou, at a presentation ceremony held at Baddibou Gunjur Lower Basic School grounds. The donated materials include: pens, books, pencils among others.

Speaking at the event, Saihou Touray, a member of the Association, underscored the importance his association attached to the attainment of quality education. The donation, he said is to complement the efforts of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education. He noted that the attainment of Education For All and the attainment of quality education call for concerted efforts of all and sundry.

Tamba Kinteh, the chief executive officer of Kerewan Area Council, lauded the efforts of Bimbi Felici Association and their partners in Baddibu Gunjur, for complementing the efforts of government in the promotion of education. The learning materials, he hopes, would enhance effective learning for school children.  Kinteh therefore called on other development partners to emulate Bimbi Felici Association.

For his part, Lang Dibba, the head teacher of Saaba Lower Basic School, commended Bimbi Felici for their continuous support in complementing the efforts of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in promoting quality education. Dibba further appealed to the association to increase the number of students they are supporting.

Kebba Sawaneh, councilor of Saaba Ward and Ba Yorro Gassama of Baddibu Banni thanked the Association for the support and assured them of their support to the education of children for sustainable development.
