Brikama braces up for mega musical festival

Scores of Gambian stars both locally and foreign based, are currently warming up for what could be described as the first mega musical jamboree slated for February 10th, at Brikama.

The event, exclusively organized by the Gambian music promoters based in  Glasgow, United Kingdom, in collaboration with Hook ON Movement, Frontline Crew and the Kaira Band, a young sprouting artist group based in Brikama, is basically meant to raise some funds for the Brikama Health Centre.

The artists expected to grace the event are: The Gambia’s’ Germany-based reggae star, Rebellion D’Recaller, Hook On Movement,Pabobo Jobarteh,Dr Olugander, Jalex aka Akuntu, and The Gambia’s most well established reggae dancehall giant, Sing-A-teh among others. The event is going to be first of its kind in the history of the Gambian showbiz, as the ‘Satebaa’ will be rocked by mega musical explosion.

This event will be an inclusive of all kind of music featuring all kinds of music genres; ranging from traditional hits, reggae, rap to other types of music segments. According to the chief executive officer of One Family Promotion and Production, SM Sanyang,  the aims and objectives of musical festival among others, are to raise funds for Brikama Health Centre, and to make the event an annual event like other international festivals like Sun Flash in Jamaica.

In addition, the event, he went on, will give platform to local and international Gambian artists on one stage, uplift the Gambian music and artists to higher height, create a gateway for local and international artists, promoters and producers among others.
