Brufut Super final POSPONED indefinitely

Africa » Gambia
Tuesday, September 11, 2012

The Brufut Super Cup final has been postponed indefinitely after Any L J FC drew 2-2 with Nyafullen FC on Friday at the Coastal village lower basic school’s football field.

Attended by hundreds of spectators including Momodou Max Jallow, executive secretary of the National Sports Council; and Ba S. Jabbi, chairman of Brufut Sports Committee, Any L J FC scored the first goal in the 2nd minute of the game through Bubacarr Camara. Nyafullen FC equalised in the 10th minute through Modoulamin Jatta, but Any L J FC took the lead again in the 37th minute through Siaka Manneh. However, Nyafullen drew level again through substitute Modou Lamin Jobe in the 63rd minute. The game had to be postponed because it was too dark to go into a penalty shoot-out.

Speaking to this reporter, Ba S. Jabbi, chairman of Brufut Sports Committee thanked the villagers for coming out to watch the game, which he described as very interesting and entertaining.  On his part, Momodou Max Jallow, executive secretary of the National Sports Council and adviser to the Brufut Sports Committee also commended the villagers for turning out in numbers to cheer their different teams.
