Budget session starts tomorrow

The  2010 draft budget estimates will be tabled before deputies at the National Assembly tomorrow.The estimates will be tabled by the minister of Finance and Economic Affairs which will cover the period of 1st January to December 31st 2010, a press release issued by the Assembly reveals.

Below we reproduce the release as issued by the legislative body. This is to inform the general public that the fourth meeting of the National Assembly in the 2009 legislative year (Budget Session) has now been rescheduled to commence on Wednesday 2nd December 2009.
The honourable minister of Finance and Economic affairs shall on Wednesday 2nd December 2009 lay before the National Assembly the draft 2010 estimates of revenue and expenditure of the government of the Republic of The Gambia for the fiscal year : 1st January to 31st December  2010 (both dates inclusive).

The Assembly shall on Monday 7th December 2009 proceed to consider and debate on the draft estimates 2010 which shall be concluded on Thursday 10th December 2009. Henceforth, the appropriation Bill 2010 (Budget speech) is scheduled for Friday 18th December 2009 to be delivered by the honourable minister of Finance and Economic Affairs. The general public is hereby informed that limited seating arrangements are available in the public gallery and anyone wishing to attend may do so through the Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly, Banjul.
