Bundung murder suspect gets lawyerFriday, September 11, 2009 Bakary Daffeh, a resident of Bundung charged with murdering his own sister, Kumba Daffeh, has finally been provided with a lawyer. The accused, who is said to have hit his sister with a pestle on her head leading to her death, was on Tuesday arraigned before Justice Moses Richards of the Special Criminal Court in Banjul. When the matter was called, the accused informed the court that he did not have a lawyer and had no idea whether his relatives were looking for a lawyer for him as they had not been visiting him. After he made this pronouncement, Lawyer A Martin rose and announced his interest in representing the accused. Justice Richards then asked the sstate counsel, S.H. Barkum to furnish Lawyer Martin with all the necessary processes in the case and urged Lawyer Martin to report to the registrar of the High Court.
