Sunday, February 08, 2009
Sainabou Wadda-Ceesay, acting principal magistrate of the Kanifing Magistrates Court on Friday discharged and acquitted the operations manager of the Kombo Beach Hotel, Marc Maurice Alfred Danmaldegum.

The Dutchman was standing trial on two charges of conspiracy with a person at large to defeat the cause of justice. He was accused of hindering the legal process by communicating with Charles Northfield, who had jumped bail. Police Prosecutor, Inspector Mballow had earlier on brought witnesses to back up his case.

However, Lawyer Badou SM Conteh, Marc's counsel, in return filed a no-case submission. Ruling on the matter, Acting- Principal Magistrate Sainabou Wadda-Ceesay told the court that the prosecution had not proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.
Magistrate Wadda-Ceesay  then discharged and acquitted the Dutchman.
