GNL pays D113, 820 to Jackpot winners

Africa » Gambia
Friday, January 27, 2012
Four winners of The Gambia National Lottery’s (GNL) Jackpot were last weekend presented an amount of D18, 970.00 each. Wally MM Faal and Bubacarr AF Sanyang both received a total amount of D37, 940.00, while Amadou Sowe and Lamin Njie, who each won the jackpot twice received a total payment of D75, 880.00. The total payment for the said winners was D113, 820.00.

Speaking shortly before the presentation ceremony, which was held at the GNL’s main headquarters in Kanifing, Mbasin Touray, marketing manageress of the Gambia National Lottery underscored the important role GNL is playing in the country, noting that over 500 young Gambians are working in the national lottery.  “The Gambia National Lottery is here to create job opportunities for Gambians and also we are participating in reducing poverty alleviation in the country and I am urging the customers to continue playing Jackpot for their own good,” she said.

She also called on others to start joining the GNL family and play the Jackpot for their betterment and for their families.  She added that the primary objective of the GNL is to make every Gambian to be self-employed. Speaking on behalf of the winners, Wally MM Faal, resident of Serrekunda London Corner, thanked GNL for improving the life of Gambians and non-Gambians alike, especially the less privileged people.
