Comium gives to Sunday beach winners

Comium, one of the GSM operators in The Gambia, yesterday, presented cheques to various winners of the recently concluded Smile Beach Tournament at a ceremony held at the company's headquarters, Kairaba Avenue.

The tournament that was sponsored and facilitated by Comium, was meant to showcase the talents of the Gambian youths and also to promote the game at the grass root level. The tourney that lasted for six weeks was won by AYK FC of Kanifing followed by Nema Cologix FC of Brikama.  JYNX FC came third then followed by Wild Rangers. AYK went home with D100, 000 while Brikama Nema went with D50, 000. JYNX FC and Wild Rangers FC also went home with D25, 000 each.

The Gambia Armed Forces were also handed over ten bicycles for their wonderful service during the tournament. Presenting the cheques to the various winners, the managing director of Comium, Amir Atwi, thanked the various teams for the solidarity demonstrated during the tournament. He said that his company would do a lot for the youths and people of this country in the near future.

For his part, Nyang Njie, the Sales manager of Comium, outlined his company's resolve to contribute its quota towards national development. He said that the tournament was part of Comium's summer activities and that it was meant to nurture unity among youths. He thanked the participants for their cooperation.

Receiving the bicycles on behalf of the GAF, Lt Anzelic J Gomez, highlighted the numerous benefits one can derive from the beach. She urged the participants to make good use of the beach.
