Community of Ndagan receives donation

The mayor of Banjul City Council, Samba Faal, through the Oostende City Council last Wednesday presented second hand clothes, solar cooker and a cash of D5,000 to the Community of Ndagan, situated in the outskirt of the city.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at Ndagan, Mayor Samba Faal said that Ndagan is a historical place in Banjul and that the main occupaction of the people settling there is fishing.
He said the settlement is now expanding, that is why when the City of Oostende gave them the gifts they decided to lend their support to the community.
In a similar development, Dr Ancha Jagne-Ceesay also at the occasion presented a cash of D2, 400 to the community of Ndagan. As a Banjulian, she assured them that she wouldcontinue to give support to the people of Ndagan.
For her part, Sister Gladies, who works closely with the community, thanked BCC, Dr Ancha Jagne-Ceesay and the City Council of Oostende for their support to the community.
For his part, Joseph Jarjue, an elderly in the community pointed out water as the main constraint of the community and appealed to the mayor of Banjul to provide taps for the community.EndFragment
