Africa » Gambia
Friday, July 08, 2011
COPRI, the road construction company that was contracted to construct the Westfield-Sukuta Highway on Wednesday, 6th July 2011 embarked on a road cleaning exercise on the said road.

Speaking to the Daily Observer, Amadou Sanneh, a staff of COPRI, said the initiative is meant to clear the sand on the roadside which he regarded as a duty of his company, since they were in charge of the construction of the said road. The exercise he said will ensure protection and show the beauty of the road.

According to him, the country’s development is their priority, and that they will continue to support the government.  For one Musa Camara, a passer-by, the initiative is a remarkable one that will bring back the beauty of the Westfield-Sukuta Highway; an initiative he also referred as part of road maintenance.
