Court awaits report of settlement on libel caseFriday, July 17, 2009 Justice Joseph Wowo of the High Court in Banjul has urged the director of Public Prosecution, Richards Chenge to furnish the court with the report of settlement on a criminal case involving the State against one Musa Joof. The accused was alleged to have written a petition in March 2, 2007, to the president of the republic of The Gambia, accusing the sheriff of the High Court and the judicial secretary of sitting on the execution of a judgement, thus depriving him of his right for almost one year. It was ascertained that the said high court officials have been promoted to position of high court judges. DPP Chenge had informed the court that he would get the parties to discuss ways of reaching an amicable settlement. He however craved the court's indulgence to give him enough time to get to the parties and report back to the court. Author: by Sidiq Asemota | Media Actions |
