Court orders Kotu SSS student to render community service

Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbake of the Kanifing Magistrate court, yesterday, convicted one Modou Lamin Fatty, to serve a two-week community service at the Serrekunda Police Station.

Modou Lamin Fatty who was in remand for 6 months, for not been able to fulfill his bail condition, was now found guilty on a charge of stealing preferred. In his mitigation plea, he told the court that he is a student and that he has never involved in any criminal case. He therefore, begged the court for mercy. He is expected to commence his two-week community service on Tuesday March 3, 2009.
