The Gambia Cricket Association will Saturday will hold its Annual General Congress at the Independence Stadium where a new Executive will be elected to steer the affairs of the Association for the next four years.

The current President of the Association, Johnny Gomez is expected to stand for another term and sources close to Observer Sports have revealed that he is the leading candidate to win the elections.

Speaking to this reporter this week looking ahead to the eagerly anticipated congress, Johnny Gomez stated that the congress is meant to elect new officials in a fair and free manner to run the affairs of the Cricket Association for a term of four years.

Johnny added that activity report, the treasurer’s report and the audited accounts will be presented to congress delegates, adding that the forum would also avail members to ask questions and comment on the various reports.“I would stand for elections and if elected I would do more than what I have done in the pastfour years to move the association forward,” he said.
