CRR MDFTs capacitised

africa » gambia
Wednesday, April 08, 2009
At least seventy (70) MDFTs under Janjangbureh LGA on Monday April 6 held a day's sentisisation on the Strategy Development Planning in Janjangbureh CRR south.

The forum was aimed at equipping the MDFTs with the skills and techniques for them to carry out their functions successfully and effectively.  The Community Driven Development Project (CDDP) is committed to building the capacity of the MDFTs as they are the frontline workers in  facilitating the planning and development process.

In his remarks, the community development facilitator, Kajally Kanyi, underscored the importance of the MDFTs for the successful implementation of all the activities of CDD projects in the region.  He noted that the planning process will not only empower the villages but will aid the strengthening of the three social dimensions of bonding (within the CBO) bridging across village and communities and linking with product value chains, service provider etc.

He said the MDFTs have a crucial role in community capacity development for participatory planning, diagnosis, implementation, monitoring and evaluation at village and ward levels. He implored the participants to serve the people and work towards the realisation of their designed objectives.
