Over a hundred teachers, cluster monitors, members of the PTA and Regional Education Office staff on Monday November 10 started a three-day training workshop on quality and assurance at Armitage Senior Secondary School in Janjanbureh CRR.

The objectives of the workshop were to expose participants to all levels of the Quality and Assurance Framework (QAF) and the principles of child-centred learning and other good classroom practices.  The workshop was organized by the Standard and Quality Assurance and Development (SQAD).

In his opening statements, the regional director of schools, Baboucarr Suwareh, spoke at length on the importance of the workshop, noting that it will address the problem of quality which is still a problem in schools. 

He further pointed out that the training will also go a long way in exposing the participants to the principles and practices that can improve on the management of schools, especially on the aspect of internal monitoring.
 
The principal education officer of SQAD, Sang Gomez, said the Quality and Assurance Framework has six levels: the classroom, school, cluster, region, community and national level. He called on the participants to be ready to accept their roles, celebrate their strengths and work on their weaknesses.
