CRR thanks President Jammeh for Ramadan sugar

Africa » Gambia
Friday, September 03, 2010
Alhaji Ganyie Touray, the governor of Central River Region on behalf of the people of the region, has thanked the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh for the Ramadan sugar he gave to them.

Governor Touray expressed his gratitude during an interview with the Daily Observer Wednesday at his office in Janjangbureh. He on behalf of the National Assembly members, chiefs, councilors and the entire people of his region thanked President Jammeh for the Ramadan sugar gift. He highlighted the significance of the Ramadan sugar gift to Gambians saying it is a clear testimony of the president's magnanimous and philanthropic gesture.

According to him, whatever assistance one gives to his or her fellow Muslim brother especially during this holy month of Ramadan will be rewarded by God. He also opined that the gift, which is aimed at assisting the poor and needy people, manifests President Jammeh's love and care for the welfare of all Gambians irrespective of tribe or political affiliation. He then reaffirmed his support and that of his people to the president and the APRC.
