D10, 000 bail bond for ‘assailant’Wednesday, March 07, 2012 One Alieu Colley, a native of Kembujeh village in the Kombo Central District of the West Coast Region was on Monday 5th March 2012 arraigned before the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, presided over by Principal Magistrate Hilary Abeke. The accused was charged with two counts of criminal trespass and common assault, all contrary to the Laws of The Gambia. On count one, the particulars of offence stated that the accused on or about the 4th February 2012 at Kembujeh village, entered the compound of one Mariama Fatou Jah with the intent to intimidate or annoy thereby committed an offence. On count two, the particulars of offence revealed that the accused on or about the 4th February 2012 at Kembujeh village, wilfully and unlawfully slapped and twisted the hand of the said Mariama, thereby committed an offence. When the charges were read to the accused person, he pleaded not guilty. The prosecutor handling the case 1st Class 3676 H. Jallow applied for an adjournment in order to call his witness to testify in court. However the accused was granted bail with two Gambian sureties. The case was adjourned to 19th March 2012.
