Denton Enterprise sued for wrongful dismissalWednesday, August 08, 2012 12 ladies recently sued Denton Enterprise for wrongfully dismissal. The ladies namely, Mariama Kujabi, Awa Krubally, Fatou Manjang, Madina Colley, Jainaba Njie, Haddy Krubally, Binta Sekan, Maimuna Jallow, Fatou Baldeh, Absatou Kanteh, Saffie Baldeh and Fatou Cham jointly filed a suit at the Industrial Tribunal of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Jobarteh. The plaintiffs are said to be packaging staff of the company whose services have been dismissed by the defendant. They (plaintiffs) are jointly claiming the total sum of D104, 500.00 for their Social Security contribution, which they claimed to be unpaid at the Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation. A joint sum of D34, 800.00 for their leave arrears, damages of D95, 200.00 each, being damages representing five (5) years purchase for wrongful dismissal and cost were all claimed. Representing the defendant, Lawyer Badou Conteh informed the tribunal that his client (the company) is not accepting liability. The case was then adjourned to the 22nd August 2012 for hearing.
