Dr Olugander concludes 'Stronger Dan Before tour'

Friday, February 19, 2010
The Gambia's reggae sensation, Dr Olugandeer last week completed a provincial musical tour tagged 'Stronger Dan Before tour', the titled sharing the name of his latest album.

The tour, which was organised by his record label-Gander's Production, was sponsored by Youki-Banjul Breweries Ltd. According to Valentine Banjakey, the MD of Gander's Music Label, after the tobaski tour in 2009, which saw them performing at different provincial towns like Farafenni and Jara Soma, more of Gander's fans around Basse and Bansang demanded that they come over again, which they duly obliged.

Mr Banjakey continued: "So to make sure we had a sucessful tour, we sought our sponsors and we are grateful to Youki and Banjul Breweries for  their support . And also not forgetting our partners (Africell), who are always there when we need them." These two companies, he added, do a very good job in supporting Gambian music and hence their popularity especailly among the youth nationwide.

Banjakey gave a hint of greater things to come, as he called upon both Gander's fans and Gambian music lovers in general to watch out for, and start getting ready for the musical doctor's next album. He said the production of the new album is currently underway and people should brace themselves for yet another sensational hit from the country's reggae dancehall genius. He disclosed that the album, like the previous one will be officially released by Africell(Gambia) Ltd.
