One Amadou Mboob, a driver was on Monday arraigned before Principal Magistrate Kayode  Olajubutu of the Bundung Magistrates Court, charged with negligent act causing death.

According to the particulars of the offence, the accused, on or about the 15th December 2009, at Latrikunda, drove a vehicle with registration number BJL 4556 A, in a negligent manner, causing the death of one Fatoumatta Bah. He pleaded not guilty to the charge. The defence counsel for the accused, Pap Cheyassin Secka, told the court that the accused has been in custody since the cause of the accident and asked the court to grant the accused bail.

He was later granted bail in the sum of two hundred thousand dalasis (D200,000), with two Gambian sureties. The case was then adjourned to 18th January 2010. Sergeant Kujabi stood for I.G.P.
