Ex-agric officials’ case adjourned to OctoberThursday, July 26, 2012 Justice Emmanuel Amadi of the Brikama High Court has adjourned the criminal case involving ex-Agric officials to October 5, 2012. When the case was called yesterday before Justice Amadi, the prosecution told the court that the witnesses it intended to call were not available, some are sick and one of them out of town. The presiding judge then adjourned the case to October 5, 2012. It could be recalled that the following ex-Agric officials: Alhaji Bakary Trawally, former permanent secretary (PS) at the Ministry of Agriculture; Momodou Lamin Ceesay, a local businessman; Momodou Mbye Jabang, former farmer management project manager; Dr Mustapha Ceesay, former deputy director general of NARI; Kekoi Kuyateh, former deputy PS at the Ministry of Agriculture; Dr Amadou Sowe, former PS at the Ministry of Agriculture and Awa Saye-Touray, a former storekeeper at the Agric ministry are facing criminal charges; ranging from economic crime, forgery, negligent of duty, among other things.
