Ex-female soldier charged with giving false informationTuesday, July 03, 2012 One Yama Mendy, an ex-soldier, Thursday appeared before the Banjul Magistrates’ Court, presided over Principal Magistrate Taiwo Ade Alagbe, charged with one count of giving false information, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia. The
particulars of the offence revealed that the accused, on or about 28th December
2011, wrote a letter to the Office of the President, stating that she was
dismissed from the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) by one Lt. Ebrima Ngumfor refusing his sexual advancement,
and also lodged the same complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman, the
