Friday, July 09, 2010
The Gambega sponsored Fanta Science and Mathematics inter-senior schools quiz  which started on the 17th April 2010, has finally reached its climax with Marina International Senior School  set to face Methodist Academy Senior School in the final, slated for  17th July 2010.

In an interview with the Daily Observer, Saja Sambou, human resource manager at Gambega, revealed that 12 senior schools from the Greater Banjul Area participated in the competition. According to him, the competition aims at promoting the learning of Science, Mathematics and Technology at the senior level.

He added that, since this is the first competition of its kind  they are for now concentrating  their attention only on the Greater Banjul Area. He expressed hope that, it will later be expanded to all the senior schools across the country.According to him, for a school to be qualified for the competition, the school must be science oriented and in addition,  will be required to present three participants  from  the school.

He also revealed that, the final winner will be awarded a trophy, calculators, science and mathematics text books and some crates of drinks.Sambou added that, Gambia Senior Secondary School and Muslim Senior Secondary School will compete for  the 3rd and 4th positions respectively on  10th July 2010 whilst the final award ceremony will be on the 24th July 2010.He said that, Gambega Company is always committed to supporting the education sector, and gave an example of the recently ended inter-senior and junior schools football and volleyball competitions, which were also sponsored by Gambega Company.
