Wednesday, September 02, 2009
Passengers crossing the Banjul-Barra ferry terminal crossing point have expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, for the massive transformation of the Banjul-Banjul ferry terminal.

Many passengers spoke at length about the major developments at the ferry terminal, compared it to the old terminal building. Speaking to this reporter, Ebrima Jobe, a passenger at the Banjul-Barra ferry terminal at the time, said the new terminal is totally different from the old one. Jobe, who frequents the terminal, said there is a big difference between the old terminal building and the new one, adding that the new one is much spacious.

Another passenger, Mbugul Cham, also said the new terminal is so big and comfortable that whenever she is to travel she feels so excited. Cham thanked President Jammeh who has saved many ferry passengers from difficulties they face in crossing the Banjul- Barra river. Yorro Jallow, another frequent passenger, said that he is sort of words because of the good work of President Jammeh.

Jallow added that the renovation of the terminal was a good idea, noting that before the refurbishment, it was always a problem for people to cross, especially during the rainy season. He thanked President Jammeh for the good work he is doing for the Gambian people.
