A fire outbreak has ravaged the Gambia Association for the Physically Disabled (GAPD) office located within the Social Welfare office in Banjul.

The unfortunate outbreak occurred on Friday around 10:30 in the night which caused a drastical setback to the disabled association office.During an interview with the Vice President of GAPD, Momodou Savage, while inspecting the affected area, said the fire disaster has caused a lot of damages to their organisation as their equipment (printers and computers) were completely destroyed.

He seized the opportunity to thank the Fire Services for their timely intervention and urged the government, philanthropists, NGOs and individuals to come to their aid.  He also explained that the cause of the inferno is yet to be established. He assured the general public that the fire incident has caused no casualties.

For his part, Abraham Mendy, the administrative secretary of the GAPD called on the general public to support them in regaining their best properties. He extended bunches of thanks to the management and staff of the Social Welfare for accommodating them within their premises for the betterment of the disabled persons.  He therefore appealed to all benefactors to come on board and help them to remedy this dramatic situation.
