First team actions delight Tijan Jaiteh

Gambian international, Tijan Jaiteh, is delighted to be slowly, but surely, finding his way back to Brann's pecking order after some devastating periods in the winter.

After being linked with a host of English Premiership clubs during the winter, the  combative Gambian midfielder decided to stay with Norwegian side, Brann, but since then things have not been easy with him. Just a few weeks ago, Jaiteh fired his agent who had also been very disruptive and replaced him but of more concern for him was his failure to make the pecking order.

However, the former Gambia Ports Authority prodigy saw 90-minute action as Brann defeated Lillestrøm 3-1 on Day 7 of the Norwegian Tippeliga on Thursday night to move to sixth place in the rankings. It was Jaiteh's third appearance for Brann this season after what had seemed to be an initial snub by new coach, Steinar Nilsen, who failed to start him in Brann's first four matches of the season.

Thursday's cracker turned out to be perhaps Jaiteh's best game of the season as he won almost all the battles he was involved in within the Brann midfield. Shortly after the victory, which was Brann's third successive win of the season, Jaiteh said he was pleased to have had the chance to prove his worth. "This was just so fantastic. I am so glad. The adversity I had this winter has done me good. Now I know that I am strong and I'm a better player now than before," he said.

Jaiteh partnered with ever-present Jamaican, Rudolph Austin, in the midfield and the Gambian believed their partnership worked as planned. "The interaction with partner Rodolphe Austin was fantastic. It is great to play on the team with so many good players," he said.
