She said "President Jammeh nominated me to the National Assembly to become speaker where I became a member of the executive committee of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association as African representative for three years, representing the entire African block. I therefore dedicate this award to the Gambian leader and pray that God, the Almighty continue to shower his blessing on him, his family and the entire government," she said. She further thanked the members of the National Assembly for their support during her term as speaker, describing the award as a surprise.
