One Muhammed Thiote Sey, a Guinean, was recently arraigned before Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates Court, charged with obtaining money by false pretence.

According to the prosecution, the accused between May-June 2008, at diverse places within the Kanifing Municipality falsely obtained the sum of  $10,000 from one Idriss Maseidi, by promising to buy him gold.

He pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail in the sum of D245,000 or the provision of two Gambia sureties with landed property situated in the Greater Banjul Area. The case was then adjourned to April 14.
